PERFECTING NOTICES TO RENTERS WORKSHOP (“BIBLE SCHOOL”)

The Drafting Notices to Renters course is a practical hands on training program focused on one of the most critical and high risk tasks in property management issuing notices under the Residential Tenancies Act. It is designed to give property managers clarity confidence and consistency when drafting and serving notices that are routinely tested at VCAT.

OR BOOK YOUR IN-HOUSE SESSION

The course breaks down the notices property managers issue most often including Notices to Vacate, Notices of Entry, Rent Increases and Breach Notices. Rather than relying on generic templates or habits passed down through teams participants are shown how to draft notices correctly how to support them with the right evidence and how to serve them in a way that protects both the agency and the residential rental provider.

“The Bible”

At the centre of the course is Castellan’s drafting templates book known across the industry simply as “The Bible.” For many property managers it has become the go to reference before any notice is issued and for good reason. It takes the guesswork stress and second guessing out of one of the highest risk areas of property management.

Every attendee receives a copy of “The Bible” and is shown exactly how to use it in real world situations. This is not a bundle of generic templates. It is a practical working tool designed to help property managers draft check and sanity test notices so they stand up when challenged at VCAT.

The newly released second edition of “The Bible” includes updated notices to reflect recent changes to the Residential Tenancies Act along with expanded content including additional Notices to Vacate, Goods Left Behind notices and the key statutory declarations that support them. It is designed to sit on your desk and be used daily not filed away after the session.

The course itself walks participants through how and why each notice works. Property managers learn how VCAT assesses validity where notices commonly fail and how small drafting or service errors can derail an otherwise strong case. The training is grounded in real tribunal outcomes and the issues Castellan sees repeatedly in contested hearings.

This course is ideal for property managers who want confidence when issuing notices and agencies who want to reduce failed notices tribunal risk and avoidable disputes.

The Drafting Notices to Renters course can be delivered as a standalone session as part of a broader training program or directly in house for agencies seeking practical legally grounded training that actually gets used long after the session ends.
